2024 ACTS TL1 1st Place Blue Ribbon Award Winner, TL1 HU Postdoctoral Fellow, Sadaf Ghaderzadeh, PhD

Congratulations to Sadaf Ghaderzadeh, PhD, who received 1st place for her poster and abstract at this year’s Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sadaf is a post-doctoral fellow at Georgetown-Howard University Medical Center. Her TL1 project, Systemic Administration of miR-451 Improves Autophagy Response, explores the intricate interplay between autophagy and microRNAs in the early stages of Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD) development, providing valuable insights into potential therapeutic avenues for this prevalent diabetes complication. Her mentors are Carolyn Ecelbarger, PhD at Georgetown University, and Maurice Fluitt, PhD at Howard University.
