GHUCCTS Research Grand Rounds

Research Grand Rounds Presents: ““Epidemiology of heart failure: cross-disciplinary insights from community-based cohort studies”

Sponsor: MHRI and GHUCCTS
Time: 12 - 1:30 PM (lunch provided at 1 PM)
Location: MedStar Washington Hospital Center, 6th Floor, CTEC Auditorium, 110 Irving Street NW, Washington DC 20010
Speaker: Vasan Ramachandran, MD

Dr. Ramachandran is the Jay and Louise Coffman professor in Vascular Medicine, Chief of the section of Preventive Medicine and Cardiovascular Epidemiology at Boston University, and Principal Investigator and Director of the Framingham Heart Study. His translational research has been transformative both in and beyond cardio metabolic disease, by finding synergies between powerful new laboratory, genetic, molecular, imaging, bioinformatics, and other methods with systematic clinical phenotyping in transgenerational cohort studies. The Framingham Heart Study, entering its 71st year, is the exemplar of practice-changing clinical and translational research and of leveraging such research for training and career development. Dr. Ramachandran’s own research interests include heart failure, echocardiography, high blood pressure, and risk prediction. He will share his discipline and translational stage-spanning research on “Epidemiology of heart failure: cross-disciplinary insights from community-based cohort studies.”
